Okay so maybe it wasn't THAT epic.. but I surely think that Ghosts win at the Pacific Classic is something that will not soon be forgotten.
Follow The Story Here:
Alright, so after seeing the results to the Pacific Classic, this is how I imagine the race played out..
Ghost stumbled out of the gate, but managed to find her footing and gave it her all, catching up to the rest of the herd, passing everyone to battle it out with BTs - Blackbeard Got Some Ink. Blackbeard accepted the challenge, the two completely separating themselves with the rest of the field. By the end of the race, Blackbeard placed 2nd with 25 lengths inbetween him and the next horse. Ghost won the race, 3 lengths ahead of Blackbeard. That is a total 28 lengths between her and the third place horse, HM Almost Black. After that, the pack was pretty tight placing-wise. The rest of the horses ran 3-4 lengths ahead of each other, aside from OE Twilight Zone, who burned out and came in last 10 lengths behind WPF The Apocalypse.
Now tell me that isn't an epic race. We couldn't be more proud of our mares tremendous heart and drive to win.
As for BTs - Blackbeard Got Some Ink, we applaud him for keeping up with Ghost almost every step of the battle for 1st this go around.
He did, in fact, win against her at the previous race, the Haskell Invitational, by 2 lengths.
TLEC Such A Classic used to be Ghosts main rival in the racing world, but I think Blackbeard is her new one now
This marks the last race of Ghosts 3 year old career.

I tried a different shading style this time, and I REALLY like it.. it is the same concept I did with the third image above (on Ghost, at least- I didn't use it for the others), but with a bit more tweaks. I really like it and I think I am going to keep this style for a while.
And of course, Kisses attends all of Ghosts races, but I haven't shown her in any of the images lately, so I had to feature her here!

After the ClassicHealz PlzMurasaki99 So generously offered her help in ensuring Ghost has a swift recovery and healing process.
“Ch’an, this way.” The red-haired man gestured to the slender blonde woman emerging from the Harusame Meadows barn area at his urgent mental summons. She held a bucket, clean towel, and had a bag of gear slung over her shoulder which bounced off her hip as she ran.
“Who has been hurt?” asked Ch’an looking beyond Ralaar to scan the people moving around backstretch. Everything appeared normal to her limited experience with this particular human sport. “I didn’t think it was the custom to fight at these races.”
“It’s not!” He gestured her to follow as he moved around people hot-walking horses, grooming, washing, and performing the usual after-race activities for their steeds. “There was an accident – Ghost Hour stumbled out of the starting gate, flailed around on her knees, then hopped up and ran on to catch up with the others and win the race
