SecondThis sketch has been sitting around my gallery for a while now and I havent found the motivation to finish it. Maybe some day when I find the time.

Cain finally came to and opened his eyes slowly, blinking away the blurryness of his surroundings. His legs were laying naturally for his position, but one of his arms lay under his chest in an uncomfortable way, like he had tried to brace his fall. He was laying on his belly with his face to the side, with a strange selection of multicolored grasses scattered about, and jagged icy blue shards pointing aggressively outward. He groaned and tried to collect his thoughts. When everything that happened came back to him he scrambled to get to his feet, a sharp pain clutching to cains whole head. He had to push his palms against his ears to steady his head as he gave out a gasp of pain. A numb feelings came about his arms and legs that tingled and hurt.
He turned to look for Dutchess and as soon as he did he wished he hadnt.
The mare lay on her side, eyes closed. One of the shards was punctured through her belly from the looks of it. Cain limped over to her and knelt- it was more of his legs giving out and him stumbling towards her- his hands trembling uncontrollably as he smoothed his fingers over her cold body. Her skin flinched at his touch and she rolled her eye back to look at him, "Cain..?" came the mares once noble voice. She sounded far off.
"Im here.." The man spoke softly to Dutchess, stroking her, "Your safe, im here."
Then, as he peaked over her belly that was reddened with blood, he saw her front legs. Bone jutted out of both of the mares front legs. "It hurts.." she breathed out and closed her eyes again. Cain felt his throat become uncomfortably hot and swollen and he choked out as tears ran down his reddening face. He knew he couldnt take her back home with him.
